Korean-style hot dog

A popular street food in Korea and famous cousin to the corn dog, these #JustDelicious cheesy deep-fried Korean-style hot dogs are a sure-fire winner come snack time!

Ingredients

1 packet Eskort Smoked Viennas, halved lengthwise

1L sunflower oil for deep frying

1 packet cheese slices

100g flour

Doritos cheese-flavoured chips, crushed

2 eggs, beaten

sweet chilli, sriracha or tomato sauce for serving

Method

  • Heat some oil in a large pot.
  • Wrap each Vienna half in a slice of cheese and set aside.
  • Place the flour in a shallow bowl and the crushed Doritos in another shallow bowl.
  • Beat the eggs in a bowl.
  • Working quickly, and shaking off any excess, dip each cheese-wrapped Vienna half in egg wash, then flour, then back into the egg wash and finally into the crushed Doritos.
  • Set aside.
  • Deep fry the dipped viennas in the hot oil in small batches until golden brown.
  • Remove from the oil and drain on paper towelling.
  • Serve the hot dogs warm with sweet chilli, sriracha or tomato sauce.
