Mini frikkadels in garlic and chilli spinach with creamy samp

Rich and creamy with a bit of a bite, this #JustDelicious meal is the ideal comfort food!



750ml (3c) samp, pre-soaked and washed

125ml (½c) Ideal Milk

45ml (3T) butter

15ml (1T) black pepper

Mini frikkadels

350g Eskort Mini Frikkadels

45ml (3T) olive oil

60g leeks, chopped

1 green chilli, chopped

2 garlic cloves, chopped

1l (4c) spinach, shredded





  • Bring a pot of water to the boil over high heat.
  • Cook the samp for 20-30 minutes until the water has evaporated.
  • Add the ideal milk, butter and black pepper, and mix well to combine.


  • While the samp is cooking, heat a large frying pan over moderate heat.
  • Add olive oil to the pan and fry the leeks with the garlic and chilli until glossy.
  • Add the mini frikkadels, shredded spinach and salt, and fry until the frikkadels are cooked.
  • Dish a portion of the samp into a bowl and top with the frikkadels in garlic and chilli spinach.
  • Garnish with chopped chilli and extra ideal milk, if preferred.
