Sticky Kassler chops and cucumber salad

A #JustDelicious no-fuss, sticky, fresh, yummy and more-ish dish!


8 Eskort Kassler Chops, bone in

10ml sesame oil

30ml soy sauce

60ml hoisin sauce

1 small red chilli, finely chopped

2 cucumbers, shaved into ribbons

butter lettuce, shredded

3 spring onions, finely sliced

fresh mint

30ml sesame oil

10ml apple cider vinegar

salt and ground black pepper


  • Preheat the oven to 200°C.
  • Place the Kassler chops in a shallow casserole dish. In a small bowl, whisk together the sesame oil, soy sauce, hoisin sauce and chilli. Pour over the chops and toss to coat all over. Leave to marinade for 15 minutes.
  • Place chops in a baking tray, drizzle over the marinade and bake for 20 minutes, turning and basting occasionally until caramelised and cooked through.
  • In a salad bowl, mix together the cucumber ribbons, lettuce, spring onions and mint.
  • Whisk together the sesame oil and apple cider vinegar and drizzle over the salad.
  • Season with salt and pepper and toss to mix well. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
  • Serve the warm Kassler chops with the cucumber salad.
