Vanecia Becker: Our dogs are well cared for

Vanecia hasn't been able to go home since the horrific night her fiancé, David, was shot dead by his own father.

She hasn't felt strong enough yet to set foot in the house in Germiston on the East Rand since her partner's death earlier in June  but Vanecia Becker has made sure their two dogs are being cared for.

In the new issue of YOU, 29-year-old Vanecia speaks out about the horrific night her fiancé, David (38) was shot dead by his father, Johan Brody (64). Brody also killed his two daughters, Tanya (37) and AnnaMarie (33), before turning his .22-pistol on himself.

Vanecia believes it's a miracle she and her nine-year-old son, Kian, escaped death that night.

Animal lovers raised concerns about Jack Russell Spike and dachshund Troy being left alone on the premises.

While friends and neighbours did step in to take care of the dogs initially, giving them food and fresh water daily, Vanecia says Spike and Troy have since been taken in by a close friend.

Vanecia and her son have been staying in Randburg with family since the killings, and she hopes to be reunited with their beloved pets soon.
