inqayi. elangeni is a collaborative body of work produced by South African photographer Lee-Anne Olwage and poet, dancer and visual artist Lusi Mahote. The work exists as a "visual poem" that speaks to the varying stages of a fluctuating state of mental health as experienced by Mahote, a black, "kweer" artist. Mahote refers to themself as Kweer with a 'K', as a way of rejecting the epistemology of the former word.
