On 1 November 2020, six women came together to unsettle patriarchy's divisive and destructive power, and they will continue to do so every Sunday for the next seven weeks, using the new television show It’s A Feminist Thing

Existing as a social justice initiative under Soul City Institute for Social Justice, the show was conceptualised in support of feminist movements against the war that's being waged against the bodies of women, children and queer folk. The show seeks to keep alive movements like #TheTotalShutdown and the #SandtonShutdown.

Speaking about the South Africa the women currently find themselves in, the institute said:
