Since November 2020, Germany’s museums, theatres, art galleries and other such cultural institutions have remained closed under Covid-19 regulations.
In this halt of operations, TikTok has seen an opportunity to ramp up their engagement and further diversify their audience. Until 11 April 2021, the video-sharing platform is inviting 50 cultural institutions in Germany an opportunity to get their share of a €5 million grant. In South Africa, this amount adds up to one that sits just below R90 million, giving each of the 50 institutions up to R173 896.
