Join the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary African Art on Instagram Live for a conversation between curator, sociologist and artist, Khanyisile Mbongwa, and the museum’s executive director and chief curator Koyo Kouoh. Together they will look at the ways that contemporary art can spark joy. 

Khanyisile Mbongwa is a Cape Town-based independent curator, award-winning artist and sociologist. She sees curating as a way to cure and care.

Mbongwa is the curator of Puncture Points, founding member and curator of Twenty Journey, and former executive director of Handspring Trust Puppets

She’s also one of the founding members of arts collective Gugulective, Vasiki Creative Citizens and Rioters In Session, a poetry collective for womxn of colour. Mbongwa was a Mellon Foundation Fellow at the Institute of Creative Arts at UCT, where she completed her Masters in Interdisciplinary Arts, Public Art and Public Sphere.
