From the series 'Ausi Bazala'. (Lebogang Tlhako)

If you're part of South Africa's Tumblr generation, chances are you know Lebogang Tlhako's work. The photographer, art director and, sorry but I have to say it, tastemaker, has been ubiquitous in Johannesburg's digitised visual scene.

She was twice a finalist for ELLE magazine's "style reporter" competition.

Street style was all the rage in both traditional and emerging media, Malibongwe Tyilo's "Skattie What Are You Wearing?" was a snarky tome; Puma Social Club was still the place at which to be seen on a Saturday evening; and day parties had just begun their migration from Brooklyn to 44 Stanley.
