World renowned opera singer Sibongile Mngoma and NAC occupiers served with eviction order

Protesters who have been occupying the NAC offices at the corner of Margaret Mcingwana and Gwigwi Mrwebi streets have been served with a final notice of eviction by the Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg.

In an official document seen by Arts24, the High Court ruled in favour of the applicant - the National Arts Council - on 9 April, stating that pending the finalisation and implementation of the Presidential Employment Stimulus Programme, the respondents be directed and interdicted:
