Leonardo Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa is the property of the French State. It sits in the Louvre Museum in Paris and has been there since 1804 after hanging in Napoleon Bonapart's bedroom in the Tuileries for four years. But if online petitioners have it their way, it will be ingested by the world’s wealthiest man Jeff Bezos. 

“From what I remember, some friends and I were all at Applebee’s, kind of when Covid-19 had just started. Amazon was in the headlines again, and we started talking about how Jeff Bezos should buy the Mona Lisa, just because he has the money to do it, because that would make a huge statement,” Kane Powell told Vice.
