Booker Prize shortlist 'the most diverse' in the prize's history

On 15 September 2020, the Booker Prize committee announced Tsitsi Dangaraembga, Maaza Mengiste, Diane Cook, Avni Doshi, Douglas Stuart and Brandon Taylor as the six finalists for the £50 000 award. 

Although the list of finalists is the most diverse in the prize’s history, Gaby Wood who is the literary director of the Booker Prize Foundation, said the following shortly after the announcement:
