Unsettlingly honest and brutally blunt, Ougat is Shana Fife’s story of surviving the social conditioning of her Cape Flats community, surviving sexual violence and depression, and ultimately escaping a cycle of abuse.

Exploring themes of sexuality, womanhood, violence, depression, and cultural identity, Shana’s self-deprecating humour is used to describe what being a coloured woman means to a coloured woman.
