Small love. Big love. Skinny love. Toni Morrison’s “love is or love ain’t, thin love ain’t love at all”. Early in the morning love. Love and honour your parents love. Love at the ends of its tether. “I can’t do this anymore” love. Here Maneo Mohale considers abundant love as a part of Arts24's series More Than One Kind of Love.
My partner and I are professional boyfriends. We fall in love quickly, deeply and fast. In many directions, multiply, abundantly. I love that we love this way, how we meet parts of ourselves anew in the people we adore. How geeked and grateful we are to be loved like this. This Valentine’s Day, our warm-wooded apartment filled up with our loves – two in person, and more over videocalls, voice-notes, texts, DM’s. We all swapped breakup stories, gushed tipsily at each other, kissed, napped, argued, all against the anxious backdrop of this ever-unfolding pandemic.
