Los Angeles - Annie Lennox's daughter's boyfriend has died following a kayaking accident.

According to Yahoo, police found a body in the search for Tali Lennox-Fruchtmann's significant other Ian Jones after the pair's kayak capsized in the Hudson River in New York on Saturday morning

Tali, 22, was rescued by a passing vessel. Investigators issued a search party and have now reportedly recovered Ian, 32, following the accident at 9:30 local time.

Authorities have not yet confirmed that the body is Ian's, however Tali took to her Instagram to confirm that he had passed away.

Along with a picture of her and Ian she said: "My heart is shattered. My best friend, my soul mate, my partner in crime & creativity, the LOVE & LIGHT of my life is no longer with me.

"All the love that has been sent to me is giving me the strength to get through this. I know that he is so so happy that I was safely rescued. Let us honor & celebrate this beautiful soul & keep following the light (sic)."

The Dutchess County Sheriff's Captain John Watterson told PEOPLE: "The current in the Hudson River is very strong and we believe the current played a role in the kayak capsizing, and once the two got in the water it was difficult for them to stay together."

Police say they believe alcohol may have also played a part in the incident.

Tali is one of the legendary Eurythmics singer's daughters with ex-husband, music producer Uri Fruchtmann.

It's thought that neither Tali or her boyfriend were wearing life-preserving jackets during the trip. Tali was assessed at the scene and was found to be fine. She aided much of the rescue effort which continued until 22:00 on Saturday night.
