Cape Town – Brad Pitt is poking fun at his "disaster of a personal life".

The 56-year-old, who took home a Golden Globe on Sunday for his performance in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, recently appeared with his co-star Leonardo DiCaprio on the podcast WTF with Marc Maron.

According to People, Marc asked the two at which point they knew they made it big in Hollywood. Leo said it was after he starred in Titanic and saw a black SUV following him around, though it hardly happens now.

Brad responded: "I'm a little disgruntled with you.

"I'm just like, trash mag fodder. I don't know… because of my disaster of a personal life, probably."

Aware of the constant dating rumours, this isn't the first time the Ad Astra star joked about his relationship status. Though he recently denied being linked to anyone in an article published by The New York Times, at the ceremony on Sunday he accepted his award and commented on the date he felt he couldn't bring to the show.

"I wanted to bring my mom, but I couldn't. 'Cause, any woman I stand next to they say I'm dating. It would just be awkward."

He also humoured reporters on the red carpet who asked him about a probable run-in with ex, Jennifer Aniston.

"I'll run into Jen, she's a good friend," he said all coy.

He joked: "It's the second most important reunion of her year," before adding, "That was a play on Friends."
