In 2020, Britney Spears said she'd never to perform again if her father were to remain in charge of her career, but the singer just shared a sweet throwback. "My mom sent this to me and reminded me that I can sing," she wrote on Instagram.

"She said 'You never sing anymore … you need to again !!!!',[sic]" Britney wrote alongside the video. "I've actually never watched this performance … it's definitely from a while ago !!!! [sic]"

The post comes as the Toxic hitmaker's conservatorship battle with her father continues.

In court this week, Britney's attorney, Samuel Ingham, said he plans to file a petition asking the court to make Jodi Montgomery Britney's permanent conservator. Britney, in August 2020, requested Jodi, a professionally licensed conservator who stepped in for her father temporarily when he was dealing with his own health issues, become her permanent conservator. The court denied the request at the time.

This, as reports surfaced that Britney's considering speaking out. A source said: "Oprah would most likely be her first choice."
