Cape Town - Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron took our breath away on Tuesday when she posted the cover of Glamour Magazine's newest issue of which she is the star.
Charlize is gracing the popular title's cover because she was honoured as one of the magazine's Women of The Year, which makes total sense because she's been kicking ass as usual. From transforming into a famous Fox News anchor to reprising her role in the blockbusting Fast and Furious franchise.
The magazine honoured eight women in total including: Megan Rapinoe, Greta Thunberg, Yara Shahidi and more. Charlize's cover was taken by Spanish fashion photographer Miguel Reveriego.
In the accompanying interview, the 44-year-old reflected on her incredible career, her relationship with her mother and raising her own kids.
The 44-year-old philanthropist shared that her mother, Gerda Maritz, was refreshingly candid with her, including telling her when her childhood ballet recitals in Benoni, South Africa were not quite good enough.
The actress said about those moments: "It was devastating to hear, but I realised that when she said something was good, I could believe her. It was the same thing my whole life,".
She added: "She gave me the truth always - the good and the bad equally. I'm trying to do that with my kids."
Charlize has two children, Jackson and August adopted in 2012 and 2015, respectively.
She also credited Gerda with giving her an excellent piece of life advice. She revealed: "I was raised by a mom who was just like: 'Don't take any shit.' "
Charlize is currently getting Oscar buzz for her role as Megan Kelly in Bombshell and filming the ninth Fast and Furious film, so it seems that taking that wise words from her mother on board, continues to work wonders for her!
