- Charlize Theron says she often comes across videos of Steven Seagal online when researching for a role, but claims the actor isn't really fighting.
- "He’s shoving people by the face. It's a whole setup," she told Howard Stern in an interview.
- The Old Guard star said she had "no problem talking shit" about the actor saying "he's not very nice to women".
Charlize Theron isn’t mincing her words when it comes to Steven Seagal.
The Bombshell star recently spoke to Howard Stern promoting her new Netflix action film The Old Guard and got candid about everything from her rumoured engagement to Sean Penn to her thoughts on Steven Seagal.
Charlize has taken on many action movies in recent years and often prepares for them by going online to watch fight scenes she said. "You always come across that odd Seagal video of him 'fighting' in Japan, but he really isn’t," she said.
The Academy Award-winning actor went on to make a few rather harsh remarks about the 68-year-old saying: "He’s just incredibly overweight and pushing people. He’s overweight and can barely fight… look it up, it’s ridiculous. He’s shoving people by the face. It’s a whole setup."
She added: "I have no problem talking shit about him because he’s not very nice to women..."
The Under Siege star has been accused of sexual assault and harassment in recent years, reports Evening Standard. Stars including Faviola Dadis and Katherine Heigl have spoken about uncomfortable and inappropriate encounters with the actor, with actor Regina Simons alleging he raped her in 1998.
In 2017 Portia de Rossi shared her experience of working with the actor writing on Twitter: "My final audition for a Steven Segal movie took place in his office. He told me how important it was to have chemistry off-screen as he sat me down and unzipped his leather pants. I ran out and called my agent. Unfazed, she replied, 'Well, I didn’t know if he was your type.'"
