  • Judi Evans has been in hospital for 23 days.
  • The Days of Our Lives actress contracted coronavirus while being initially hospitalised following a serious horse-riding accident.
  • Her publicist says she nearly had both her legs amputated after she started getting blood clots in her legs and the doctors forgetting to numb one of them before cutting into it.

Judi Evans is currently in hospital battling Covid-19.

The actress, best known for her role as Adrienne Johnson Kiriakis in Days of Our Lives, contracted the virus in May after being initially hospitalised following a horse-riding accident, reports Variety.

The incident resulted in broken ribs, fractured leg injuries, two chipped vertebrae and a broken collarbone, according to the publication.

Now, in a post on Facebook, her publicist Howie Simon, shares that the 55-year-old is still in hospital, 23 days later.

"She contracted Covid-19 while there and she had what is known as the Covid blood clots in her legs and she nearly had both legs amputated on two different occasions," he wrote. "She had mild symptoms – fever, aches, a cough and the blood clots.

"On top of everything, when she went into surgery on one of her legs, they forgot to numb the leg and cut into her leg while she was fully conscious with no numbing of the area!"

He said Judi is, however, "in good spirits". "She has said she appreciates all the prayers for her and they've helped her mentally, physically and spiritually! She just wants to continue to test negative on Covid-19 before she can go home and get the rest she so needs!"

According to Deadline, the publicist later shared a photo of Judi from hospital, smiling and holding up a sign that read: "Your love and prayers and support have meant the world to me!"
