Ben Watkins has been diagnosed with Angiomatoid Fibrous Histiocytoma his family recently shared.

According to People, Angiomatoid Fibrous Histiocytoma is a soft tissue tumour – and the Masterchef Junior favourite is one of only a few people in the world to have been diagnosed with the extremely rare tumour.

The 13-year-old chef rose to fame on the sixth season of MasterChef Junior, which first aired on Fox in 2018. Just a year before, the talented chef lost both his parents in a murder-suicide, after his father tragically shot his mother before turning the gun on himself, reports Chicago Tribune.

Fans of the show rallied behind the likeable contestant, raising $30 000 in a trust via a GoFundMe set up by his grandmother.

The #Love4Ben has since resurfaced with fans raising money once more to cover the costs of Ben’s medical bills and future schooling.
