Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have welcomed their first child together.

The singer, who first announced her pregnancy in her music video for Never Worn White, gave birth on Wednesday, 26 August to a baby girl.

The couple named their daughter Daisy Dove Bloom.

"We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter," the engaged singer and actor shared on UNICEF’s Twitter account.

Both being Goodwill Ambassadors, the couple also elaborated in a statement on UNICEF’s website in an appeal titled: The most precious gift: A healthy child.

The couple said: "We know we’re the lucky ones and not everyone can have a birthing experience as peaceful as ours was. Communities around the world are still experiencing a shortage of healthcare workers and every eleven seconds a pregnant woman or newborn dies, mostly from preventable causes. Since Covid-19, many more newborn lives are at risk because of a greater lack of access to water, soap, vaccines and medicines that prevent diseases. As parents to a newborn, this breaks our hearts, as we empathise with struggling parents now more than ever."

They added they’d set up a donation page to celebrate Daisy’s arrival. "By supporting UNICEF, you are supporting a safe start to life and reimagining a healthier world for every child. We hope your love can bloom with generosity," they said.

Daisy is Katy’s first child. She joins big brother Flynn whom Orlando shares with ex Miranda Kerr.

Congratulations to the happy couple!
