Silento, whose legal name is Richard Lamar Hawk, has been charged with assault after he allegedly attacked two strangers with a hatchet inside their home in Los Angeles.

According to the Los Angeles Country District Office, the Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae) hitmaker walked into the house and swung the axe around, looking for his girlfriend, reports Sky News, before one of the two people disarmed him.

Prosecutors have charged the rapper with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon. He is currently being held in jail, with his bail set at $105 000 (R1.7 million), reports People.

At the time, the 22-year-old was already out on bail for another arrest. According to the publication, he was booked on felony inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant in a domestic violence incident.

An arraignment for the rapper is scheduled for Friday. He could receive a sentence of up to six years in prison if convicted.
