Cape Town – Cardi B and Offset are the new parents to a baby girl named Kulture Kiari Cephus, who was born on Tuesday, 10 July.

ICYMI: Cardi B’s baby is born and her name will make the Kardashians proud

And while the newborn’s name will certainly make the Kardashian’s proud, fans have been asking what influenced the chosen moniker.

In an interview on The Ellen Show in April, Cardi, 25, revealed that she and Offset, 26, had already decided on a name for the baby and that her rapper husband was the one who came up with it.

She said: “My dude named the baby. I really like the name. Imma let him say the name since he named the baby.”

The name itself, may also be tied to the last two albums released by hip hop trio Migos – of which Offset is part of.

Migos released a studio album titled Culture in January 2017, a year later they released Culture II.

Speaking about the title of the 2017 album, Offset told Fader at the time: “The new album title is about the culture of hip-hop music. It’s time to let the culture be known. It’s time to claim it.”

Following the birth announcement on Instagram, Cardi shared another photo of herself with the same floral backdrop with the caption: “ better feeling”

As for Kiari – the newnborn’s second name is without a doubt an ode to Offset as his birth first name is Kiari, Refinery reports.
