Kanye West has released his first campaign video since announcing his bid to run for president of the US.

The rapper released the video on social media on Monday, before deleting it, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He later rereleased the clip, captioning his tweet: "We stepping out on faith," with a link to his Kanye 2020 campaign website.

The video sees the 43-year-old standing in front of a black-and-white American flag as he talks about religion and prayer. "We will build a stronger country by building a stronger family," he says in the clip, as pictures of his own family and others are shown on screen.

"Families are the building blocks of society, of a nation" he continues. "By turning to faith, we will be the kind of nation, the kind of people, God intends us to be."

He concludes: "I am Kanye West, and I approve this message."
