  • Princess Raiyah and Ned Donovan are married!
  • The princess, who is the youngest daughter of King Hussein of Jordan and Queen Noor, married the British journalist in England on Tuesday.
  • Ned's family, and Queen Noor, were present as the couple said: 'I do.'

Princess Raiyah of Jordan tied the knot in a rather intimate celebration in England on Tuesday.

Princess Raiyah bint Hussein, who is the youngest daughter of King Hussein of Jordan and Queen Noor, and the half-sister to King Abdullah II of Jordan, married the grandson of Roald Dahl, Ned Donovan after a few short months of being engaged.

The couple were set to marry earlier, but due to Covid-19, had to change their plans.

Shortly after the ceremony, Raiyah took to social media to share the happy news with her followers, writing: "Thank you all for your kind messages on our wedding!

"While it was originally planned for April in Jordan, the pandemic derailed those plans and it was safer for my husband's family to hold it in the UK. God willing we look forward to celebrating in Jordan once the situation allows."

Raiyah's mother, born Lisa Halaby in the US before going on to marry the late King Hussein of Jordan, was in attendance as her daughter said 'I do', reports People.

Raiyah who holds a master's degree in Japanese studies from Edinburgh University and a master's degree in Japanese literature from Columbia University, tied the knot while completing a PhD in pre-modern Japanese literature at UCLA, while her new journalist husband has worked for The Daily Mail and The Times.

Congratulations to the happy couple!
