Cape Town - The author and ex-husband of Princess Martha Louise of Norway, Ari Behn, has died.

"It’s with great sorrow in our hearts that we, those closest to Ari Behn, must report that he took his own life today," Behn’s manager, Geir Håkonsund, said in a statement to Norwegian newspaper VG on Christmas Day.

He was 47 years old.

BBC reports that Behn made headlines in 2017 when he accused Kevin Spacey of groping him at a concert for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007.

Spacey, who has faced numerous allegations of sexual misconduct against him, did not respond to Behn’s statement at the time. The Hollywood actor did post a bizarre video on YouTube on Christmas Eve titled KTWK (Kill Them With Kindness).

Behn shares three daughters, Maud Angelica (16), Leah Isadora (14), and Emma Tallulah (11), with Princess Martha Louise.

King Harald and Queen Sonja of Norway released the following statement: "Behn was an important part of our family for many years, and we carry warm, fond memories of him.

"We are grateful that we got to know him. We grieve that our grandchildren have now lost their beloved father — and have deep compassion for his parents and siblings, who have now lost their beloved son and brother," the statement said.

Princess Martha Louise earlier in 2019 announced that she had found love with American Shaman Durek. "When you meet your twin flame, you know. I have been lucky enough to have met mine," the princess wrote on Instagram of her new-found love.
