Oprah with Meghan and Harry - there's a lot to dissect here. Most striking for me, however, are the similarities between what Princess Diana went through before her tragic death and what, over 25 years on, Meghan's had to endure.
In Diana's explosive 1995 Panorama interview, she spoke candidly of her mental health, and the institution's inability to help her. Now, Meghan tells Oprah she turned to a senior member of the royal family for help, saying she struggled with suicidal thoughts.
"I was told that I couldn't [get help], that it wouldn't be good for the institution," Meghan says. She recalled an HR representative telling her: "'My heart goes out to you because I see how bad it is, but there's nothing we can do to protect you because you're not a paid employee of the institution'.
