The royal household is looking for a new employee to take on a level 2 apprenticeship at either Buckingham Palace or Windsor Castle, with the potential to travel and work – and potentially meet Prince Charming, one can assume – at the many other royal residences owned by the royal family.

According to the royal household website, a vacancy has opened up for a housekeeping assistant who will work five days a week for a starting salary of £19 140 (R409 565).

"You'll join our team of Housekeeping professionals; learning on-the-job while you work alongside them to upkeep, clean and care for interiors and items, ensuring they're presented to their very best," the job description says.

"The apprenticeship will also involve off-the-job training, supported by a separate learning provider. Following a structured programme over 13 months, you'll gain specialist technical skills that will form the foundations of your housekeeping career, as well as providing you with an understanding of the wider hospitality profession."

Notably, the website says candidates will also gain qualifications, if they don't already have them, in English – and Maths. Accommodation can be organised with a salary adjustment and meals, travel expenses and 33 days of leave are included.

So don't get it twisted; Cinderella, along with the rest of the royal staff, lives a very royal life under the employment of the queen. According to Insider, the palace staff has access to a special gym, swimming pool, squash and tennis courts, among other things.

Don't just dream it though, Disney princes and princesses – applications are still open until 28 October!
