From Twilight to the Dark Knight: Is Robert Pattinson going to play Batman?

Cape Town - Robert Pattinson is going from sparkly vampire to Batman.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Twilight actor is the top contender to take over from Ben Affleck as the Caped Crusader.

In January this year, Ben announced that he would not be returning as the character in the standalone directed by Matt Reeves scheduled to be released in June 2021.

Variety reports that Robert is in final negotiations and that he is Matt's first choice.

Since Twilight Robert has stepped away from large studio films at 32, he will become the youngest actor to play Batman.

Details about the plot of the film are still unknown with Matt reportedly still working on the script.

Robert is also set to star in Christopher Nolan's mysterious new film which is expected to be released in July 2020.
