Tom Cruise's new Mission Impossible action blockbuster and Robert Pattinson's highly-anticipated debut as Batman are among the projects given the green light to resume filming in the UK.

Both films halted production in March due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Deadline reports that the UK Government will allow a 'small number of essential cast and crew' to travel to the country without having to quarantine for 14 days.

The publication further reports that Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden contacted Tom Cruise and spoke about resuming filming at the Warner Brothers Studios.
