Chadwick Boseman is a trumpet player with a dream in the first trailer for Ma Rainey's Black Bottom.

The Netflix film is the Black Panther star's last completed project before his death in August.

Earlier this month the streaming service released first look pictures and now the two-minute clip sees Viola Davis and Chadwick in the spotlight.

Based on August Wilson's play, Viola stars as real-life singer Ma Rainey aka Mother of the Blues, and Chadwick as Levee. The movie follows Ma's band members and white record producers as they wait for the diva to arrive so that they can record some songs.

The film releases on Netflix, Friday 18 December.
