Every Saturday, the Neighbourgoods Market in Braamfontein comes alive as Joburgers gather to taste great food, listen to live music, enjoy an assortment of drinks and just connect.
A similar market takes place in Cape Town at The Old Biscuit Mill in Woodstock. It features a variety of traders, including local farmers, fine-food purveyors, organic-food merchants, bakers and distributors, grocers, butchers, celebrated local chefs and micro enterprises. In Joburg, the market is run from a building that boasts a 15-storey mural by the famed artist Edoardo Villa. Live music is part of the draw, but the variety of food is the real star attraction.
