  • Blue will turn nine just weeks before the 63rd Grammys, should she win the award she will become one of the youngest stars to do so.

Blue Ivy has just scored her first Grammy nod.

At just eight years old, the daughter of Beyoncé and Jay-Z becomes one of the youngest artists to be recognised by the organisation.

Blue's name was added to the nominees for Best Music Video for her mother's track Brown Skin Girl on which she features.

The adjustment was made on Friday, after the young star's name was initially left off the list when nominations were first announced in November, Billboard reports.

Blue will turn nine on 7 January, a few weeks before the 63rd Grammy Awards.

Should Brown Skin Girl win the trophy, Blue will become one of the youngest artists to bag an award at the prestigious ceremony.

The youngest Grammy nominee and winner in history, according to The Independent, is Leah Peasall of The Peasall Sisters.

Leah was credited as one of the artists on the O Brother, Where Art Thou? soundtrack which won Album of the Year at the 2001 Grammys. She was just eight years old at the time.
