Elton John has voiced his opinion on The Weeknd's Grammy nominations snub, showing support for the Canadian singer.

In case you missed it - the Recording Academy announced the nominations for the 2021 Grammy Awards on Tuesday, but The Weeknd, who dropped his massive hit Blinding Lights this year, was notably absent from the list.

Taking to Twitter, the Starboy singer called the Grammys "corrupt", saying the organisation should be more transparent.

Sharing his opinion on the matter, Elton John wrote on Instagram: "In my humble opinion......Blinding Lights. Song of the Year. Record of the Year."

Other artists who have spoken out against the matter include Kid Cudi, Akon and Charlie Puth.
