Barack Obama has released a list of songs that inspired him during his presidency.

Sharing a post on Twitter, the former president of the United States wrote: "Music has always played an important role in my life - and that was especially true during my presidency."

He added that he decided to publish the list of "memorable songs" from his administration in honour of the release of his third memoir, A Promised Land, which hits shelves on Tuesday 17 November.

"Hope you enjoy it," he added.
