In case you missed the news, rapper Lil Uzi Vert got a massive pink diamond implanted into his forehead.

"Why?" you may ask. Well, according to the rapper, it was the best way to ensure he did not lose the $24 million (R350 million) gem.

Speaking to Fat Joe on Instagram Live, Lil Uzi started off by assuring everyone that he was doing fine, and the decision to attach the diamond to his forehead was no cause for concern.

He also had a message for those who may have something to say about the cost of the stone. "Let's just say if I would have saw this diamond in there, and it wasn't $24 million, I still would have got it... I can't help that a natural diamond cost that much," he told Joe.

About why he decided to get the diamond pierced into his forehead, the rapper said it was the best way to keep it safe, mentioning that the initial idea was to turn it into a ring.

"We was gon' put it in a ring. But, I'm gonna be honest, I'm Lil Uzi, I'm turnt up. So 24 million on a ring is the stupidest idea because I'm gonna look down and that ring ain't gon' be there. That ring ain't gon' be there, I know me. I wake up in odd places," he said.

In a string of Tweets on 30 January, the rapper revealed that he has been paying the diamond off since 2017. According to the star, the gem is the most expensive purchase he has ever made, and he says he will not do it again.
