  • Rapper Kanye West released a song in honour of his late mother on her birthday.
  • The track, titled Donda, is named after his mother who died in 2007 following complications from a cosmetics procedure.
  • The song feature's Kanye's mother reciting the lyrics to KRS-One's track Sound of da Police.

Kanye West has paid tribute to his late mother, Donda, with a new track named after her and released on her birthday.

Donda West died in November 2007 after complications from a cosmetics procedure. 

The song starts off with Donda reciting the lyrics to KRS-One's song Sound of da Police, featuring the Kanye towards the end of the 02:19 second clip. 

"In loving memory of my incredible mother on her birthday. My mom reciting KRS1 lyrics. This song is called DONDA," Kanye wrote on Twitter when he shared the track along with the video. 

Kanye, who recently announced his plan to run for president of the United States, has been dropping new music ahead of the release of his upcoming album, God's Country. However, it is not yet clear if Donda will feature on his latest offering.
