  • Taylor Swift has become the female artist with the most cumulative weeks at number one across all her albums on the Billboard 200 chart.
  • The record was previously held by Whitney Houston whose albums spent a combined 46 non-consecutive weeks at the top.
  • Whitney held this Billboard record since 1987.

With her folklore album returning to the top of the Billboard 200 chart, Taylor Swift has set a new record.

The singer now becomes the female artist with the most cumulative weeks at number one across all of her albums, surpassing Whitney Houston.

"Folklore returns to No. 1 for a seventh nonconsecutive week on top. In doing so, Swift's total weeks at No. 1 - across all seven of her chart-topping albums - now stands at 47, a new record among female artists. She surpasses Whitney Houston's sum of 46 weeks at No. 1 [sic]," Billboard reports, adding that Whitney Houston held the record since 1987.

Following Taylor and Whitney is Adele whose albums have spent an accumulative 34 weeks at the top.

With this record, Taylor continues to make Billboard history.

The publication previously reported that the singer's 2014 album, 1989, has spent over five years on the Billboard 200 chart.
