  • Canadian singer Lubalin is blowing up on TikTok after creating hilarious songs from dramatic social media exchanges.
  • The singer went viral in late 2020 when he shared his first internet drama clip, accumulating millions of views in a matter of hours.
  • In an interview with Buzzfeed News, he said the instant fame caught him "a little off guard".

It started off with just one video, and now singer Lubalin is blowing up on TikTok.

The star had the bright idea of turning dramatic exchanges on social media platforms into hilarious songs.

It all started with this one.

"So... I made a tiktok yesterday and it a little bit blew up (9+ million views) figured I'd share it here too [sic]," Lubalin wrote when he posted the video of a random exchange on his Instagram account.

For his second clip, the singer took a fight about a broccoli casserole recipe and turned it into this masterpiece.

"Remember 7 days ago when I had 400 followers?" he wrote on the December 2020 post.

He now has over 400 000 followers on Instagram and over 2 million on TikTok (at the time of publishing).

In an interview with Buzzfeed News, the Canadian singer admitted that the sudden fame caught him "a little off guard".

About how he started the internet drama series, he told the publication he had been trying to figure out what makes things go viral. "You need a hook, then you need to deliver."

He added: "I began wondering how can I take my skill set and apply it to that? I was kind of in a haze of taking in all this information then I thought maybe it would be fun if I took a screenshot of something and turned it into a song."

Lubalin currently has music out on streaming platforms as well, having released his experimental EP in September 2020.
