SA star Jesse Clegg has released the music video to his latest chart-topper, Speed of Light.
The track was released in late 2020 and was written and produced by Jesse alongside US singer/songwriter Nick Furlong (known for his work with artists like Avicci, Kygo and Steve Aoki) as well as Walk the Moon frontman, Nick Petricca.
Directed by Garth Von Glehn, the music video for Speed of Light was shot in the Cape Town city centre and "captures the essence of real-life athlete, Chelsea-Sloan Samuels, as she overcomes the conflict within herself and channels all her energy into her running," a press statement explains.
Speaking about the meaning behind the video, Jesse said: "The video tells the story of a young athlete from a challenging background who is passionate about running. The story follows her as she chases her dream of becoming a professional runner against all odds, pushing herself to her limits to reach her goal. This captures the idea of the song which is about finding meaning, love and passion in our darkest moments."
