There's nothing quite like a mega pop star announcing their first pregnancy.

Whether it's Beyoncé on a red carpet at the VMAs clutching her belly or Katy Perry, revealing her baby bump in a new music video about wearing white.

That's right, the woman who gave the world hit songs like Teenage Dream, and I Kissed a Girl is back with new music and seemingly pregnant and ready to walk down the aisle.

The songwriter – whose birth name is Kate Hudson - sent her fans into a furore on Thursday morning when she released her new Never Worn White video with a scene cradling a baby bump.

The track takes a more emotional tone than her recent singles, musing over a piano melody. The video is equally as emotive, with Katy looking like a bride in white.

The lyrics unpack the 35-year-old's fears around getting married to her long-time love Orlando Bloom.

She belts out the words: "You asked the question, I said, 'Yes'/But I'm scared/'Cause I've never worn white/But I wanna get it right/Yeah, I really wanna try with you." Katy was married to Russell Brand from 2010 until 2012.
