Now that her second studio album, Whitney, has gone 10x platinum, Whitney Houston has officially become the first black recording artist with three diamond-certified albums, according to Billboard.

The 1987 album produced five Billboard top 10 singles, the publication adds.

Whitney's self-titled debut album, as well as the soundtrack for the film The Bodyguard in which she also starred, are the other two projects from the songstress which have achieved diamond status according to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

The news comes just days after the singer's video for her track I Will Always Love you joined the billion views club on YouTube.

So far, only three black artists have two diamond-certified albums - Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey and 2Pac.
