Earlier this year, the iconic local brand Lucky Star, was looking for a song that could inspire South Africans to rise up and get in the mix. They teamed up with YFM to find a Get In The Mix track that would get the whole country moving. They called out for an original track by an upcoming local musical talent to showcase as a major component of the brand’s Get In The Mix campaign

The response was massive with entries covering every genre from kwaito, pop and hip hop, to amapiano, gqom and house. Over a thousand entries ended up being submitted during the YFM radio competition. These got narrowed down to 5 finalists before audiences were left to make the final decision with their votes.

The winning track ‘Siyacela Nkosi’ by Dlala Mlungu & BreakDLaw featuring Terrence McKay ended up being a unanimous favourite, and for good reason. It’s the bumping feel-good anthem that we all deserve at the end of this long year. Inspired by an amapiano beat and with the fresh vocals by the multi-talented Terrence McKay, this hot track is ready to be in rotation on every summer playlist.

The music video brings you the taste of home with the winning combo of bold colours, mind-bending animation and some killer dance moves that’ll get dancefloors shaking around the country. Lucky Star is excited to back the musical talents of Dlala Mlungu, BreakDLaw and Terrence McKay with this high energy music video for ‘Siyacela Nkosi’.

The only thing left to do is rise up, turn up the volume and get in the mix with Lucky Star.
