Keira Knightley is the latest movie star who might have her first starring role in a television series.
According to Variety, the 35-year-old has reportedly signed on to star in The Other Typist, a series based on the novel by Suzanne Rindell, which is currently in production at Hulu.
The series centres on Rose a typist for the New York Police Department in the Prohibition era. She gets drawn into the world of her glamourous co-worker Odalie (Knightley). When a crime is committed, it's uncertain who of the two is more treacherous.
According to Deadline, it's a psycho-sexual suspense thriller that centres on themes of identity, class and obsession.
The L Word's Illen Chaiken will adapt the novel and serve as showrunner, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
This will be Keira's - who will also executive produce - first significant TV role after appearing in the 2011 Syfy miniseries Neverland and a two-part Doctor Zhivago adaptation in 2002.
