Barry Jenkins has shared a teaser for his upcoming series The Underground Railroad.

The limited Amazon Prime series stars South African actor Thuso Mbedu as Cora, a young woman who escapes a plantation hoping to find the Underground Railroad.

The Moonlight director wrote: "The Underground Railroad – 'Preamble. We the People..." alongside the clip on Instagram.

Thuso also shared the clip with the caption: "The Underground Railroad. So, @bandrybarry decided to drop a teaser. 'Who built this?' 'Well, who builds anything in this country?'. Can't wait for y'all to see this story."

In May the 29-year-old was named one of Vogue Australia's rising stars. The Is'Thunzi actress has also received two International Emmy nominations for her portrayal as Winnie in the series.
