Part Three finds Sabrina reeling from the harrowing events of Part Two. Though she defeated her father, Lucifer, the Dark Lord remains trapped within the human prison of her beloved boyfriend, Nicholas Scratch. Sabrina can't live with herself, knowing that Nick made the ultimate sacrifice and is suffering, burning in Hell under Madam Satan’s watchful eye. So with an assist from her mortal friends, "The Fright Club" (consisting of Harvey, Rosalind, and Theo), Sabrina makes it her mission to free him from eternal damnation and bring him back into her arms.

So we’re into the third season 3 The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Sabrina Spellman is still the worst. She’s still expecting to be thanked for cleaning up messes that she caused in the first place, and I don’t know why these people enable her. But once you accept the fact that you are watching this show for its amazing supporting characters like Lillith, Ambrose, Nick and Agatha you’ll feel much better about just ignoring her annoyances.

Fortunately, the writers of this show are really good at their jobs because season 3 was riveting from beginning to end. I do like the fact that Sabrina and Harvey are not endgame in this show because Harvey is far too wholesome for this version of Sabrina and Nicholas Scratch is just the perfect Warlock for her.

Season 3 opens with Sabrina trying to get Nick out of Hell after he used his body to trap Lucifer in. But to do so, she needs to accept her role as Queen of Hell. She also has to deal with the coming of the Old Ones that Lucifer predicted would show up.

The Church of Night is also going through some changes in their beliefs. Since they dethroned and imprisoned Lucifer they have now decided to pray to Lillith who they believe sits on the throne to Hell. Because once again, Sabrina has not let her family in on her shenanigans and so many things could have been avoided had she just told them.

I do like how they eventually end up worshipping the moon goddess Hecate and how that whole transition comes about.

Most of this season’s Big Bad comes in the form of the Old Ones, who literally rolls into town as a circus. The Old Ones worship the Pagan Gods and amongst their troupe are Pan, Circe and Medusa who cause all sorts of trouble for the Church of Night who are given the ultimatum of "join us or die". But Father Blackwood is also still around causing all sorts of trouble for them and Lucifer is not quite ready to be cast into the shadows just yet.

While Zelda and Hilda are dealing with all of that, Sabrina is trying to help Nick with his torment after his stint in Hell with Lucifer but is distracted by the trying to find the Unholy Regalia, three infernal artefacts that will seal her claim to the Throne of Hell.

I feel so bad for Nick this season. He tries to tell Sabrina about his torment, but she brushes it off and then gets mad at him while he is literally working through his demons in some unconventional ways. It all eventually leads to Nick breaking up with her because he needs to fix himself without her judgements.

This season also sees some time travel and alternate realities. Father Blackwood eliminates the Spellman family and the Pagans manage to sacrifice Harvey to bring the Green Man to life. Sabrina finds herself stuck in the Judas statue while on an infernal quest and Ambrose manages to escape with Father Blackwood’s weird time egg.

When it’s all said and done unfortunately for everyone involved, we end up with two Sabrina Spellmans. One who is to rule over Hell and the other who wants to be a normal teenager. Ambrose warns her that this is a terrible idea, but she obviously doesn’t listen to him and will once again have to clean up this mess and expect to be thanked for it next season. I can’t wait for the shenanigans that will unfold in season 4.
