Host of The Scenic Drive with Rian on Jacaranda FM Rian van Heerden says he is "fine" after testing positive for Covid-19.
Rian went into hospital after experiencing pain due to kidney stones on 21 September, but a routine Covid-19 test revealed a positive result for the virus.
The radio personality was tested and put in isolation before being admitted, in line with the hospital's Covid-19 procedure.
On Sunday, Rian returned from an almost week-long stay in the hospital, and The Scenic Drive team talked to Rian about his recovery.
"I left my office on Monday, and the pain became worse and worse. I checked myself into the hospital. They said they have to keep me, but they first have to test me for Covid-19," he said, adding: "At 02:00 in the morning, the nurse said I'm Covid-19 positive."
About his Covid-19 recovery, Rian said: "I'm fine," saying it was "shaky" at the beginning.
On Facebook he described the experience as "bad," being treated by two teams for both Covid-19 and kidney stone. "I'm still in pain and isolation, but hopefully just for a couple of days."
