Jordan Cashmyer, who starred in an episode of MTV's 16 and Pregnant, has died at 26.

Authorities in Maryland confirmed the news to E! News. The cause of death was not revealed.

"Last night I received a call no parent ever wants. My oldest beloved daughter, Jordan has passed away, she was only 26 years old," a Facebook post on Jordan's father, Dennis M. Cashmyer's account reads. 

The message, which was signed by Jordan's stepmother Jessica, continues: "Our hearts are truly broken. No parent should ever have to go through losing a child, EVER. Please keep my family in your thoughts prayers as we navigate through this terrible tragedy. Please understand and respect our privacy at this time. We are surrounded by the love and support of our children, grand daughter Lyla and family members [sic]."

Jordan was featured in a 2014 episode of MTV's reality show, 16 and Pregnant. Her segment focused on her struggles with finding a job, experiencing homelessness and being disowned by her family who did not approve of her relationship with then-boyfriend Derek Taylor, Variety reports.

According to the publication, the young mom was arrested for drug possession in 2017, but had later confronted her addiction and in early 2021 celebrated a year of sobriety.
