Ashley Judd was seriously injured while on an excursion in the Congo rainforest.
The actor broke her leg while at a research camp studying an endangered species of apes called bonobos. She later revealed it was a "gruelling 55-hour odyssey" getting her to a hospital in South Africa. She also gave a special shoutout to staff at Netcare Sunninghill Hospital in Johannesburg. "World class and a wonder," she praised those who nursed her back to health.
Now, speaking to Page Six, her sister, singer Wynonna Judd, says she is "still processing" what happened after seeing the Double Jeopardy actor, calling her recovery "a miracle".
"I was looking up how to wash hair for someone who's lying down in bed because she texted me, 'Can you wash my hair?'" the country superstar told the publication.
"Therein lies the job of a big sister right there," she said.
